After replacing water pump, fuel pump, leaf springs and ready for shocks and ball joint decided to scrap the vehicle. Was told there would be a $2500 transmission rebuild for a $4000 vehicle. With O/D off it went above 40 but was rough feeling and not going below 3000 rpms. Slow to shift and at 40 mph no shift just a revving engine. O/D light came back on flashing and very hesitant to go into reverse or drive. It ran at 3000 rpm's without kicking down and at 40 mph just revved as if in neutral. O/D light was on and wouldn't go off pressing the button on gear shifter. They jump started the vehicle and as soon as I pulled out going into 3rd gear the vehicle ground back into 1st and shuddered. Bought the Ford Explorer limited 4 months prior to it being towed and tow shop ran the battery dead.
